Where Did "KangoMedia" Come From?
People ask us this all the time, so here’s the honest answer: it’s almost embarrassingly simple.
When Freddy and Ada were starting the company, they wanted a name that was memorable and had a Rio Grande Valley feel. Ada suggested fruit names—mango, citrus, valley lemons.
“MangoMedia” sounded perfect. Except MangoMedia.com was taken.
So in a moment of desperation, Freddy changed the M to a K (he was also a fan of Kangol brand hats), and KangoMedia was born.
We almost renamed it after printing business cards and launching our first website. But clients loved it. It stuck. Now we can’t imagine being called anything else.
